The Great Migration ...

... a K-16 collaborative teaching project ...

... Kenyon College, Cleveland State University, Oberlin College,
The Cleveland Municipal School District, & The Avery Institute

The Great Migration Project originated at Kenyon College in the classrooms of Peter Rutkoff and Will Scott. This program has expanded considerably and has become a significant K-16 collaboration between several universities across the northern part of Ohio and the state's largest school district, the Cleveland Municipal School District. The tentacles of the collaboration extend far and wide, and especially into Charleston, SC, where the Avery Institute has become home-away-from-home for our research family.

This website has been in the works since early August (and following several weeks of much needed vacation.) It will be under construction this autumn, and is expected to be completed with lesson plans and other curricular materials by December 2002.
